WOMEN, MANAGEMENT AND WORK CONFERENCE:

Leading the Future World of Work

30-31 July 2009

HOTEL INTERCONTINENTAL,
CNR PHILLIP & BRIDGE STREETS,
SYDNEY

The theme of this year’s Women, Management and Work Conference—the Australia’s leading women in leadership event—is The Future World of Work.
Through interactive workshops, panel discussions and plenary sessions, the conference, now in its twenty-first year, offers participants a unique opportunity to explore the latest thinking on these key issues confronting women leaders at work:

  • change management techniques for women
  • leading change: women’s business
  • balancing work and family life
  • pay equity for women
  • women and technology
  • negotiation skills for women in the workplace.

This year’s speakers and workshop leaders include Sharan Burrow, Dawn Casey, Grant Dodwell, Wendy Harmer and Angus Houston.

Each year since 1989, the Women, Management and Work Conference has made an annual audit of key issues for women in management. As well as offering an exhilarating environment for women to discover practical solutions to leadership and change management challenges, the conference is a vital networking opportunity for women in management and leadership roles in every field.

In 2009, the 21st Women, Management and Work Conference is presented by the Labour-Management Studies Foundation of Macquarie University and the Macquarie Graduate School of Management.

Conference  location is the award-winning InterContinental Sydney which blends contemporary style with 19th-century architecture and offers sweeping views from Sydney Harbour Bridge to the Pacific Ocean. A perfect base for work and play, the hotel is bordered by the city’s commercial centre, Circular Quay and the Royal Botanic Gardens. Steps away are the historic Rocks area, Sydney Opera House, the Art Gallery of NSW, leading shops and boutiques and some of the finest restaurants in Sydney.
