JULIE LANDER
Chief Executive Officer
CARE Super
Julie Lander is Chief Executive Officer of CARE Super, a position she has held since September 2002 following a year with the same Fund as General Manager – Trustee, Investment & Member Services.
Her career has spanned nearly 30 years working in a variety of industries including member services, manufacturing, legal and merchant banking organisations. She holds a Bachelor of Business in Human Resources Management.
Julie’s interest in superannuation was sparked in the early 1980’s when working for the Pratt Group in Administration and Human Resources, she was involved in the administration of the company’s in-house superannuation fund, whose number of divisions and complexity grew with numerous corporate acquisitions.
For over thirteen years, in the roles of Personnel Manager with the then Australian Chamber of Manufactures and later, National Manager – Human Resources with the Australian Industry Group (which was formed through a merger of ACM with the Metal Trades Industry Association (MTIA) in 1998), Julie was not only responsible for HR policy and related activities, but was Secretary of ACM’s corporate super fund.
Prior to joining CARE Super in 2001, Julie spent two years heading the HR Shared Services Team at the RACV, a diverse organisation of several business units and at the time over 2000 employees.
In her role as CEO of CARE Super, the industry fund which caters for administrative, professional and managerial staff across all industries, Julie’s aim is to maximise members’ benefits in a Fund which maintains a low fee structure and adopts prudent investment strategy designed to outperform over the long term. Her goal is to encourage long term savings, especially by younger people and women, through raising awareness of the benefits of superannuation.
