Information Resources
The Labour-Management Studies Foundation (LMSF) was established by Macquarie University's Council in 1983 to contribute to a higher level of understanding of industrial relations and human resource management issues. By providing access to the research and seminar presentations on this website, the Foundation continues to promote discussion and disseminate information on progress and advances in these important areas.
The LMSF has focussed on two areas of research. The first has explored the interface of industrial relations and affirmative action and sought to discuss a range of views on equal employment opportunity (EEO) issues. Particular interest has been taken in tackling the barriers to EEO and the development of strategies to overcome them.
The second has looked at information sharing, consultation and employee participation in Australian and overseas workplaces. There is a broad consensus on the critical role that these functions play in organisations yet they are often neglected and poorly managed. The research has sought to present an analysis of the factors involved.
