The leading Women’s Conference in Australia, the Women, Management and Employment Relations Conference is presented by the Labour-Management Studies Foundation and the Macquarie Graduate School of Management at Macquarie University. 2007 sees the nineteenth annual conference which provides an annual audit of the key issues confronting women in the workplace.The goals of the Conference include broadening attendees understanding of current issues and legislation applying to today’s workplace and to provide an excellent networking opportunity. Each year the conference explores topics including: employment relations, women and leadership, finance, superannuation, workplace flexibility and equal employment opportunity.
Structure
The conference involves relatively brief addresses from panels of leading speakers who are experts in their field, from government, business, academia and unions. Audience participation at the close of each session ensures a stimulating, lively interactive question and answer session. The conference is well known for its outstanding networking opportunities.Content
The conference seeks to update participants on a range of issues critical to women in contemporary workplaces. Themes in 2007 are:- Employment Relations,

The conference fee includes conference material, presentations, catering and pre dinner drinks and three course conference dinner on 2 August 2007.
A Dr Clare Burton Scholarship is available for candidates engaged in higher education in the study or equity and / or diversity; scholarship applications should arrive no later than Friday 29 July 2007.
Conference Directors
Professor Ed Davis AM
Professor Ed Davis AM is Dean, School of Economic and Financial Studies at Macquarie University. He was formerly Professor of Management and Deputy Director, MGSM. Known widely for his research, publications and presentations on leadership and people management issues, Professor Davis has also held positions with Cambridge, Monash and LaTrobe Universities and the University of NSW. As an active consultant and practitioner, Professor Davis has worked with a range of government and commercial organisations in the development of effective performance management and leadership strategies and practices.
Pam Morpeth
Manager of the Labour-Management Studies Foundation since 1990 and over that time has forged key links with business, governments, unions and sponsors. She has been integral in the organisation and development of the Women, Management and Employment Relations Conference into a premier, annual conference that attracts keynote speakers from leading positions in Government, business and the union movement.
Professor Valerie Pratt AM
Professor Pratt AM, Professorial Fellow at MGSM, was the founding Director of the Commonwealth Government's Affirmative Action Agency established in 1986. She serves on a number of Boards, is a Fellow of the Senate of Sydney University and consults on structural and cultural change. Together with Professor Davis, she co-edits the series "Making the Link: Affirmative Action and Industrial Relations".
